Businesses, charities, public bodies, families and individuals across Lincolnshire and Newark having been taking in the impact of the Chancellors budget yesterday.

We spoke to Katrina Pierce from the Lincolnshire branch of the Federation of Small Businesses.

She told us although the budget itself was fairly "neutral" there were some things that were very positive for the area.

One example would be the discount in business rates for the hospitality sector.

Katrina hopes that many affected firms in the county will really benefit from that.

Meanwhile the chancellor’s Autumn budget revealed the Humber region will be one of the first three freeports to be given the green light.

With operations beginning next month – it will create new job and economic opportunities.

Freeport status means less red tape and a fewer planning regulations for development.

ABP is the port operator for Grimsby and Immingham docks and believes it'll mean a significant number of new jobs estimated at around 7 thousand.

Daffydd Williams from ABP says "this is fantastic news and will bring innovation and decarbonisation to the Humber."

The Chancellor yesterday decided to freeze fuel duty.

We spoke to Lindsay Linder is from Hunts Coaches in Alford about that.

She says " we welcome that however with pump prices rising there could be more done to help local communities and businesses".

Meanwhile the Humberside Police Federation has been reacting after Rishi Sunak announced 20,000 more officers will be taken on by UK forces.

Rob Grunner is the secretary of the Humber Federation he says "from 2009 to 2018 police officer numbers actually fell by 20,000 so this would be putting us back to where we were 11 or 12 years ago."

Meanwhile Lincolnshire is set to receive almost 30 million pounds of "levelling up" funding from the Chancellors autumn budget.

Improvements to the A16 and a new cinema in Gainsborough are two of the projects set to receive the cash.

19 point 6 million goes towards the A16 project and just over 10 million to the four screen Cinema.
