Brand new play equipment in Grimsby has been damaged, within hours of it being installed.

North East Lincolnshire Council have been installing a series of "Teqball tables" at parks in te borough, to help improve play areas.

Around £800,000 is being spent on improvements altogether, with each Teqball Table costing costing the Council £6500.

We're told that a new table, installed recently in Barrett's Playground has been damaged, with holes made in the table top.

Cllr Stewart Swinburn, Cabinet member for the Environment, said: “This is absolutely mindless vandalism. The pictures show at least four holes have been made in the table, and a lump of concrete at the side, which corresponds to the size of the holes. We can only assume that someone has used the concrete to smash the table up. What a waste of resources, and such a shame for the local community.”

If anyone has any information about this please contact the police on 101 quoting crime reference 23000105776.
