Cleethorpes Wildlife Rescue has started leaving trails of high quality bird seed behind when out on rescues, to help with the starving bird population.
It's claimed this year has been the worst for illness and death from starvation in wildlife across the region, because of the pandemic.
"When humans stop, starvation occurs."
They're now urging the public to take some sweetcorn, peas, dried oats, bird seed or Wholemeal bread with them when they visit local parks to feed the animals. Or put out a little cat food, chicken, scraps for the local fox.
Aaron Goss from there said:
"It's mostly happening in the bird population.
"What we think has happened is, with the main stretch of the pandemic last year, a lot of people no longer visited their local parks, they couldn't get out to get food blocks for the birds in their garden.
"It really took an affect, because when you live in an urban area, wildlife becomes dependant on that human interaction, so when humans stop, starvation occurs.
"It's really important that people, if they can, go down to their local parks taking wholemeal bread, putting things like wild bird seed out and if you can outside your house put dog or cat food out for the foxes."
