As transport firms feel the impact of rising fuel prices we speak to a Louth taxi firm
Wolds Travel told us they have no choice but to pass costs on to the public
Taxi drivers across Lincolnshire and Newark say the cost of fuel is having a huge impact on their businesses with many considering price rises to help them cope.
The sector is just one of several transport related firms impacted by record highs at the pumps.
They face not only extra costs but it's feared fewer people might want to go out due to the rising cost of living.
We spoke to Wolds Travel in Louth about how rising fuel prices are impacting their taxi business.
Neil Warne is managing director at the firm.
He told us: "At the end of the day for the business to survive is for the cost to be passed on."
"It's like everything, the cost of fuel is going to push the cost of food and prices up so it has to be passed on."
"The only way the businesses will survive is by passing these costs on and it's the public who are going to pay for them."
"I foresee the next problem for us will be when this cost of living really, really hits and I think that will be winter time when people realise how much they're having to spend on their fuel."
"What's the first thing that's going to go?"
"It's the luxuries".
"We'll end up with no work again - it's like a rollercoaster, up and down, up and down."
