Armed officers have been called out to Grimsby after it's believed a gun was fired.
It happened last night on Cooper Road around 10.45pm (12th August) Two people have received medical treatment for injuries that are not thought to be life threatening.
Police say armed response and uniformed officers were deployed to the scene and thoroughly investigated the area'
Detectives say an increased police presence will be in the area over the coming days and say they believe those involved are known to each other.
Chief Inspector Jayne Goodens leading the investigation said:
“Whilst I understand incidents of this nature cause concern and shock to the local community, I’d like to reassure local residents that we believe that those involved are known to each other.
“We are in the early stages of our investigation, exploring a number of lines of enquiries to understand the full circumstances around the incident.
“I can confirm that two people have received medical attention for injuries which are not thought to be life threatening. A window and door from a property on Cooper Street was also damaged during the incident.
“A scene guard remains in place to allow officers to continue their investigation, and we would encourage anyone who has any concerns to please come and speak to us.
