In Gainsborough, tributes have been left in memeory of the Queen, in the forms of flowers, cards and candle lighting. At Parish Church Primary School, the children take minutes of prayer and reflection in the Queen's memory.
Children at Parish Church Primary School in Gainsborough have been praying and lighting candles in the memory of the Queen. From Friday to Monday the 19th, the children will continue to have additional reflection time, allowing them to write poems and words of love.
Following the death of her majesty Queen Elizabeth II on Thursday the 8th of September, places across the county are paying respects by laying flowers, writing in books of remembrance and lighting candles.
For Eunice Page, a teacher at the Parish Church Primary School, it's an significant moment for the staff and the children.
"As a church school, it's really important to us that we have that kind of reflection time, and obviously something so massive as losing her majesty, we know we needed an immediate response. So, we let everybody know we'd be holding a silence and reflective time and lighting candles and just having that moment to reflect on her majesty.
"We've got three candles to represent the Holy Trinity and they're battery candles that we have lit all the time, and we've also got a special 'forget me not' candle for the Queen on there at the moment, with a picture of her and a quote about how her face was so important to her, and we're leaving that on until after the funeral."
Eunice added that many of the families and members of the local community have been to sign the book of condolence and lay flowers at the neighbouring All Saints Church.
