A man's received serious injuries after he was assaulted in Cleethorpes. It reportedly happened in the early hours of Sunday morning on High Street. The man was struck on the head and then fell. He was then taken to hospital.

The Police are appealing for witnesses to the assault which occurred between 2:00am and 2:30am on the morning of Sunday 22 August.

The victim, was a man in his 30s, he has sustained serious but not life-threatening injuries.

It was reported that a group of at least three men were involved. Two men, aged 24 and 19, were arrested nearby and taken in for questioning. They have now been released from custody as officers continue their investigation into the assault.
