A lorry's been hit with a brick that was thrown from a footbridge in the Scunthorpe area

A lorry driver's been left very shaken after his vehicle was hit by a brick thrown from a footbridge in the Scunthorpe area.

It happened near the Bottesford intersection of the M181 around 7pm on Sunday.

The driver managed to bring the lorry to a stop safely and wasn't physically hurt.

A 16 year old boy and 29 year old man have been arrested in connection with the police investigation and bailed

Humberside Police have said:

"We are appealing for anyone with dash cam footage from anyone who may have been on the M181 near the Bottesford intersection at around 7-7.30pm on Sunday 19 December 2021"

"A brick was thrown from a footbridge over the M181 that struck a passing HGV. The driver of the HGV managed to bring his vehicle to safe stop and was thankfully not injured"

"Anyone who may have any information or dash cam footage from this time is asked to call us on our non-emergency number 101, quoting log 0420 of 19 December 2021"
