17 year old released after arrest following collision at car meet in Scunthorpe

11 people were injured at Flixborough Industrial Estate

A 17 year old arrested after 11 people were hit by a car in Scunthorpe has been released under investigation.

Police have given an update this afternoon.

The collision took place at Flixborough Industrial estate on Saturday night reportedly during a car meet.

A vehicle's said to have collided with 2 others and then into several spectators.

The teenager had been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury by dangerous driving.

5 people are said to have been seriously hurt.

One's received life threatening injuries, a second has life changing injuries.

The remainder suffered more minor injuries.

Police renewed their appeal for information.

They said:

"We are now appealing for specific witnesses to the incident to get in touch with us.

"If you saw the collision itself, or the aftermath, if you heard what the drivers of the vehicles said after the collision, if you have any mobile phone footage, dashcam footage or CCTV footage or you saw a red Ford Fiesta, a silver VW Golf or a white BMW 1 series in the area prior to the collision we want to hear from you.
