75% of unpaid carers across Lincolnshire suffering from stress and anxiety
We're being told Covid is largely to blame
It's feared 75% of unpaid carers across Lincolnshire are suffering from stress and anxiety, with Covid playing a huge part.
There are at least 79,000 across the county.
During the pandemic, many support groups were axed, so people had to take on bigger roles looking after loved ones.
Carers First Operation manager Malcolm Ryan said many don't even know they're so involved.
"Before they know it a few bits of shopping becomes going in and helping with the laundary and cooking meals and perparing things.
"It then might lead into them getting involved with putting medication together and supporting the person.
"Carers need to look after themselves, because if they don't look after themselves, they won't be able to continue in their caring role in the way they really wanted."
