A 5-year-old-girl from Spalding has received a bravery award after she was able to alert emergency services when her mum had a seizure.

Lola Brisbane of Pode Hall had been taught what to do, but she not only put the plan into action, but was also praised by crews for how calm and helpful she was.

Today East Midlands ambulance service presented her with the award.

Lola's mum Kirsty tells us how proud she was:

"Very emotional, just amazed by her really. We always knew she was an incredible little girl, but parents do don't they? And this has really kind of shown that for us.

"We had conversations about what might happen. And we'd role played it with my Dad. It had been reinforced at school as well.

"But we were fairly confident that she would know what to do - we just didn't know that she would be quite so calm and composed about it."

Paramedic Glyn Roach says Lola has done her mum proud:

"She kept an even head and she remembered to call 999

"She was able to converse very well with the call taker. That's brilliant for someone of her age - as there's not many children that would react like that in such a stressful situation".
