A 21 year old Boston woman's been jailed for 9 years for the manslaughter of her ex partner Christopher Higgs.

Charlie Stevenson, of Portland Street was charged with murder on 15th July 2021 and following a three week trial was found guilty of manslaughter.

She was sentenced at Lincoln Crown Court earlier.

Officers were called to Portland Street at 12:13pm on 14 July following reports that a man had sustained a serious knife wound at the property.

Emergency services attended, but despite their best efforts, Christopher, aged 21 from the Spalding area, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.

Detective Chief Inspector Richard Myszczyszyn from East Midlands Special Operations Unit, who led the investigation, said:

“I can only hope that this sentence brings some level of comfort and closure to Christopher’s friends and family. My heartfelt condolences go out to them at this difficult time.

“As evidenced by this tragic case, knife crime can have devastating consequences. Lincolnshire Police are committed to keeping the county safe and will continue to tackle the issue of knife crime in the county as a priority through Operation Raptor.”
