Police appealing for witnesses in connection with murder investigation in Skegness

Lincolnshire Police say the occupants of two cars seen last Wednesday at Gibraltar Point near Skegness may have vital information in connection with a murder investigation.

It's after the body of a woman was found in the area.

Officers say they particularly want to talk to the driver and passengers of two vehicles seen entering Princes Parade car park between 11.21 and 11.27 last Wednesday evening. (17th January). The car park is adjacent to the boating lakes in Skegness.

They also want to hear from anyone walking around the Gibraltar Point Nature Reserve or in a white vehicle from around that time to the next morning, Thursday 18th January.

A 45-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of murder. He remains in police custody.

Lincolnshire Police have said:

"If you witnessed anything suspicious or unusual at the time, but have yet to come forward, please do so by contacting 101 or emailing force.control@lincs.police.uk quoting incident 386 of 19 January in the subject line.

"You can also report anonymously via CrimeStoppers on 0800 555 111 or online".

Police say that while formal identification hasn't taken place yet they believe the body that has been discovered is that of 23-year-old Petra Ross, who was reported missing on Friday 19th January.

The force says her family have been made aware and enquiries are ongoing.
