A man from Humberston who admitted sexually assaulting a child has been jailed for two years

64-year-old Phillip Budrey of Adlard Grove in Humberston was also given a 10 year sexual harm prevention order and will be entered on the sex offenders register for 10 years.

He pleaded guilty at an earlier court hearing to sexual assault by touching a child under 13.

Officer in the case DC Nichola Oakley said:

“Budrey is a perverted criminal who targeted a vulnerable young child and sexually assaulted her.

“He is now facing time behind bars and I hope he takes the opportunity to reflect on his depraved actions and the impact that they have had on the young child and their family.

“I wish to praise the victim and their family for their bravery, not only in coming forward but also throughout the court process.

“I hope the sentence given this week acts as a warning to anyone else considering committing these types of offences. We will not tolerate them and will do everything in our power to put you before the courts.

“If you are the victim of a sexual assault, please be reassured that we are here for you. We will listen and we will support you.”
