Man suffers serious head injuries in Grimsby

A man's suffered a serious head injury following what police are describing as an altercation involving 4 people in Grimsby.

The 39 year old was reportedly assaulted on Gilbey Road around 11 o clock on Saturday night and taken to hospital.

Three people are believed to have fled the scene, a short time later 2 men were located and arrested on suspicion of GBH.

Police believe it to be a isolated incident

The pair aged 48 and 49 both remain in our custody whilst enquiries continue.

Detective Inspector Scott Miller said: “We are currently in the early stages of our investigation, but I would like to reassure people that we do believe this to be an isolated incident between individuals known to each other.

“A scene guard is currently in place whilst officers conduct lines of enquiries to fully understand the circumstances surrounding the incident. I would ask anyone who has any concerns to please do come speak to us.

Another man suffered less serious head injuries in a separate incident in Cleethorpes

“I would encourage anyone who was in the area around the time of the incident or anyone who has CCTV or dashcam footage that may assist with our enquiries, to please contact us on our non-emergency number 101 quoting log 609 of 3 February.”

A 21 year old man's been arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm after a 50 year old man was reportedly assaulted leaving him with a head injury in Cleethorpes.

It took place at the Swashbuckler pub in the early hours of yesterday morning.

The victim was taken to hospital but his injuries aren't thought to be serious.
