Despite their 2-1 win Accrington Stanley have been relegated to League 2, finishing the season 23rd on 44 points.

The club's fate had but been sealed before kick-off today due to their goal difference as they needed a 16-goal-swing in their favour.

Goals from Korede Adedoyin and Aaron Pressley were enough to see Accrington take the three points at Oxford as their five-year stay in League One comes to an end.

Stanley's end of season form had seen them lose nine of their last 12 before today has ultimately seen them face the drop finishing just two points from safety.

They will be joined in the fourth tier by MK Dons, Morecambe and Forest Green Rovers.
