Woman seriously hurt after crash near Edenfield

A woman has been seriously injured after a crash near Edenfield.

Police say that a collision, involving a Ford Transit van and a Mazda car, took place on the northbound carriageway of the A56, north of Edenfield, in the early hours of Thursday.

The woman was taken to hospital for treatment.

Lancashire Police have now launched an investigation, as they now plea for anyone who saw anything, or who has dashcam footage, to contact them.

In an update, Rossendale police said: "We are appealing for witnesses, CCTV or dashcam footage after a woman was seriously injured following a collision in Edenfield.

"The collision happened on the A56 heading north at Edenfield at around 2:10am on Thursday 30th May.

"A white Ford Transit van has collided with a black Mazda 2, leaving the passenger with serious injuries. They are currently in hospital."
