Woman dies after being hit by a car in Chorley
She was knocked down as a vehicle tried to reverse out of a car park yesterday
A woman has died after she was knocked down in a car park in Chorley.
Emergency crews were called to Keepers Wood Way at 12.45pm yesterday afternoon, after a Nissan Micra hit two pedestrians whilst trying to reverse out of a parking space.
A 61 year old woman was pronounced dead at the scene, whilst the second woman was serious injured and rushed to hospital.
Lancashire Police have now launched an investigation into the incident. In a statement, Sgt Rebecca Price said: "Our thoughts are with the loved ones of the woman who died, at what is a truly heart-breaking time for them.
“We are determined to get answers about what happened and are asking anybody with information, including dashcam, to get in touch.”
