In a statement, a spokesperson for Lancashire Police said:
"At around 1.30am this morning police and the Coastguard launched a search for a woman who was thought to be on Blackpool beach.
"At around 2.40am the body of a woman in her thirties was sadly found deceased in the sea between South and Central piers.
"There are no suspicious circumstances and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
"Enquiries are on-going to notify next of kin."
