Two men from Wigan charged over violence following Southport stabbings

It's after trouble broke out following the attack in July

Two men from Wigan have been charged over violence that erupted following the Southport stabbings.

Paul Harrison, 30, of Warrington Road, Abram and Jordan Gibson, 33, of Whelley have both been charged with violent disorder.

It's after rioting broke out in Liverpool and Southport after three young girls were stabbed to death on 29 July.

Both have been remanded in custody to appear before magistrates in Liverpool this morning.

Meanwhile, police investigating the violence say a 21-year-old woman from Southport has also been arrested on suspicion of violent disorder. She's been taken into custody for questioning.

The total of people arrested by Merseyside Police has now reached 92, with 58 charged and 38 sentenced.
