The Warrington band who sadly died in a car crash six months ago had their debut album released today.

Kris Leonard, River Reeves, Tomas Lowe, Jack Dakin and their manager Craig Tarry died when the car they were in plunged more than 80ft into a Swedish canal in February.

Just after their untimely death their debut single, 'Swings & Waterslides' reached the top of the iTunes chart having been originally released last year.

Their album contains nine songs, many originally designed for an EP release, including 'Swings & Waterslides' and their new single 'Boys That Sing' also released today.

At Glastonbury this year Coldplay performed 'Boys That Sing' during their headline set saying this was for “all the bands that don’t exist any more”.

Chris Martin went on to say, “We’re going to create Viola Beach’s alternate future for them and let them headline Glastonbury with their song", Coldplay then played along to a video of Viola Beach performing their song.

To coincide with the release of the band's debut album The Lounge Bar in Warrington has reopened after friends clubbed together to secure the lease.

The Lounge Bar was adopted as Viola Beach's 'second home' as many members of the band worked at the bar on and off, after their death it became a focal point for tributes from friends, family and fans.
