Local businesses and residents have been giving their views on how it should look over the past 12 months.
The big revamp is taking place in the hope of attracting more students, world class academics and improved league table places.
Work will begin in 2016 on a new multi-million pound engineering building and a design competition will be launched giving architects the chance to get their designs used in the project.
The masterplan is set to be completed by 2025.
