Lancashire Police have recently cracked down on residential burglary
Two men have been charged after a burglary at a pensioner’s house in Blackburn.
Lancashire Police were called at 2:48am on Monday (October 5) to reports of a burglary at an address in Whalley New Road. Two men were arrested on Bolton Road, Blakcburn, and following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service Lee Woods, 40, of Fernbank Court, Nelson, was charged with burglary.
Ricky Williamson, 45, of Bolton Road, Blackburn, was charged with handling stolen goods.
Both men were remanded into custody to appear before Blackburn magistrates.
Lancashire Constabulary has recently launched Op Defender, a force wide campaign funded by Lancashire's Police and Crime Commissioner to crackdown on residential burglary.

This swift action and charge decision by Lancashire Constabulary in consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service highlight the Force's commitment to tackling burglary head on, targeting offenders and bringing them to justice while working closely with victims to reassure, and support them through the investigation.
