Two arrested after broad daylight stabbing in Preston

Two people have been arrested after a stabbing in broad daylight in Preston.

Armed police rushed to the scene on Ashford Road and Birkdale drive this morning, after reports of men fighting.

A man sustained stab wounds, and was rushed to hospital. His injuries aren't thought to be life threatening.

In an update Lancashire Police said: "You may have seen some police activity in the Ashford Road and Birkdale Drive areas this morning and we wanted to let you know what had happened.

"We were called at shortly after 6am today (Wednesday, May 1) to a report of men fighting.

"Officers attended and a man was taken to hospital with stab wounds. He is currently being treated for his injuries which are not currently thought to be life threatening.

"Two men have been arrested and are currently in custody."

An investigation is continuing. Lancashire Police want anyone who saw anything to contact them on 101.
