A toddler, who was found at a Blackpool home with serious injuries, has died.
Emergency services were called out to a property on Central Drive last Saturday (19 August), after reports a two year old boy had been injured.
He was rushed to hospital, where he received treatment from his injuries.
In an update, Lancashire Police have since confirmed that the toddler passed away on Monday.
A man in his 30s was arrested at the scene.
30 year old Daniel Hardcastle, of Central Drive, appeared before Blackpool Magistrates’ Court on Monday (21 August) charged with Section 18 wounding and was remanded into custody.
Lancashire Police are continuing to investigate, and want anyone who saw anything to contact them.
In a statement, the force said: "An investigation is continuing after a child found with injuries at an address in Blackpool at the weekend died in hospital.
"We were called by the ambulance service at shortly after 11am on Saturday, August 19 to a report that a two-year-old boy had been found unresponsive at an address on Central Drive in the resort.
"Officers attended and the child was taken to hospital, but they very sadly died from their injuries on Monday (August 21) Our thoughts are with his loved ones at this time."
