Thousands Expected For PC Dave Phillips' Funeral

Today Merseyside will say goodbye to a police officer who died protecting his community.
PC Dave Phillips was killed after being hit by a stolen pick up truck, whilst on duty in Wallasey last month.
His funeral is being held at Liverpool's Anglican Cathedral this lunchtime.
Merseyside Chief Constable Sir Jon Murphy says it's a sad day for the entire police family, saying;
''He was a role model, a leader... he was everything the public would want their police to be and that's how his colleagues regarded him.
'' He was a decent human being and he joined the police for the right reasons. He was drawn from the community. He policed his own community, he cared about his community. He was a loving family man.''
The 34-year-old's family will join his friends and colleagues in a procession, walking behing the cortege through Liverpool's Strand.
Officers from across the country are expected to join them, along with a marching band and Merseyside's mounted police unit.
They will make their way from Police HQ to the Anglican cathedral where a service will begin at midday.
Anyone wanting to be at the service is being asked to take their seats before 11.30am.
PC Phillips' sister Hannah is readign a poem she's written for her brother and his best friend and colleague Dave Lamont will read a gospel. Merseyside Cheif Constable Sir Jon Murphy is also doing a reading.
The service will be led by Reverand Lyndon Bannon from Willaston.
