Teenager charged with murder after stabbing in Preston
Detectives have charged a teenage boy with murder.
Police were called around 6.25pm on Friday (July 8th) to Raikes Road after a report of an assault.
Emergency services attended the scene and found a 27 year old man from Preston with stab wounds to the chest.
He was treated by paramedics and taken to Royal Preston Hospital but sadly later died. A post mortem examination gave a cause of death as stab wounds.
A number of people were arrested on suspicion of murder.
Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, a 16-year-old boy from Preston has been charged with murder and is due to appear at Preston Magistrates’ Court today (Monday, July 11).
Another 16-year-old boy from Preston has been bailed to September 3, with two girls, aged 15 and 16, both from Preston, bailed to August 5.
A further teenager has been arrested on suspicion of murder. The 17 year old, from Preston, is now in custody.
