Teenager arrested on suspicion of kidnap after schoolgirl grabbed in Skelmersdale
The 14-year-old was on her way to school when it happened
Detectives investigating after a schoolgirl was grabbed in Skelmersdale have arrested a 15-year-old boy on suspicion of kidnap.
The 14-year-old girl was on her way to school at about 8.30am on Friday, June 25th when she was approached by someone who offered her sweets and then tried to grab hold of her.
The girl managed to wriggle free and run home and the police were called.
She was physically unharmed.
The incident happened on a path between Eskdale and Southway near to a wooded area.
An investigation was launched and a 15-year-old boy from Skelmersdale was arrested on suspicion of kidnap. They have now been released under investigation and enquiries are continuing.
