A survey reveals Preston has the happiest neighbours in Britain

A recent survey conducted by the home assistance company Homeserve has revealed that Preston has the happiest neighbours.
The nationwide poll of over 2000 UK homeowners showed that more than 83% of neighbours have gone out of their way to help others in their street and over 40% interact with their neighbours regularly.
After analysing the data the perfect neighbour apparently is "most likely to live in a house rather than a flat, lives in Preston, is good at DIY, is 100% reliable in an emergency, is trustworthy and is very sociable with their neighbours."
While unsuprisingly trust ranks highest in the list of 'nice-to-have' factors, being friendly, helpful and vigilant were also important factors.
44% of those asked said they would like to get to know that neighbours better, organising social events such as street parties during the Queen's Diamond Jubilee and community clean ups.
