There are claims the Government needs a better plan of action to prevent flooding in Lancashire in future.

The Shadow Floods Minister Kerry McCarthy's been talking to people that were devastated by storms Desmond Eva and Frank and has told Rock FM that more needs to be done so it doesn't happen again:

"What we're seeing is announcements of pots of money in a very ad-hoc way - almost as a sweetener to people. It's not just the areas that are flooding that are involved - it's the water companies, it's the councils- and you need to bring them all together and really work out a serious plan on how you're going to spend the money."

It's after new research revealed spending on defences is five times higher in the South East than it is in the North West.

The Government say the analysis is 'misleading' and that it's investing in 1500 schemes and protecting 300 thousand homes.
