Slavery arrests after police sent to derelict building in Blackpool
Several people have been removed to "ensure their welfare"
Five people have been arrested on suspicion of slavery offences, after police were sent to a derelict building in Blackpool.
Officers were sent to the site on Church Street, after a concern reported that people were living there.
Yesterday (13th November), several people were taken out of the premises, police say, to "ensure their welfare."
In a statement, Lancashire Police added: "Four men, aged 44, 47, 52 and 46, and a woman, aged 53, have been arrested on suspicion of slavery, servitude and forced/compulsory labour.
"A 52-year-old has been arrested on suspicion of immigration offences.
"All are currently in custody."
