Attempted murder charge after Skelmersdale stabbing
Detectives believe it was targeted, and that there's no wider risk
A man has been charged with attempted murder, after a stabbing in Skelmersdale on Saturday night (9th November.)
A man in his 20s suffered several stab wounds, in a reported assault in an alleyway near the Buffs club on Ormskirk Road.
His injuries were not life-threatening, according to Lancashire Police.
A 56-year-old man was arrested in Skelmersdale around 4.12am on Sunday.
A police statement added: "Following consultation with the Crown Prosecution Service, James Don, 56, of Banksbarn, Skelmersdale, was charged with attempted murder and possession of a knife/bladed article in a public place.
"He appeared at Preston Magistrates Court yesterday (12th November) and was remanded in custody to appear at Preston Crown Court on 10th December."
