Six people are in custody after a man was found with multiple injuries, following an assault in Preston.

Emergency services were called just after midnight (15 July) to New Hall Lane, where a man was discovered with lacerations and puncture wounds.

He was taken to hospital and is currently in a stable condition.

Five men, aged 21, 24, 26, 45 and 52, have been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder.

A 46-year-old woman has also been arrested on suspicion of assisting an offender.

Lancashire Police say an investigation is underway and enquiries are continuing.

Detective Inspector Steve Monk from Preston CID said: “A man has suffered some serious injuries, and we are in the early stages of an investigation to try and establish the circumstances.

"While we have made a number of arrests our enquiries are ongoing and I would appeal to anyone who saw anything suspicious in the Arnhem Road or Wilbraham Street areas off New Hall Lane, or who has any information, to get in touch.”
