Schoolgirl Sex Assault In Burnley

Police are appealing for information after a 14-year-old girl was sexually assaulted in Burnley.

Around 6.45pm on December 19, the teenager was leaving the bus station in Croft Street when she was approached by a male.

The man touched her inappropriately and tried to hug her before making off.

Detectives would like to speak to this man, pictured, in connection with the incident.

Det Con Wendy Rothwell, of Burnley CID, said: "This was a traumatic experience for the young girl involved and we are keen to trace the man pictured.

"This assault took place in a very public place and we feel there must be someone who recognises the individual we would like to speak to."
