Anti-frackers have stepped up protests as a public inquiry resumes over whether a second fracking site should be set up in Lancashire.

Roseacre Wood is the location up for debate and whether heavy goods vehicles could safely deliver to the site.

The hearing, at Blackpool Football Club, is expected to last for two weeks.

Cuadrilla applied to frack at two sites on the Fylde in 2014, however, they were rejected by Lancashire County Council.

A spokesperson from the energy firm said:

“We have consulted with the local community and proposed three new routes to be considered at the planning inquiry and are looking forwards to making our case.

“Our expert transport consultants have concluded, and will demonstrate at the inquiry, that the proposed new route strategy and associated traffic management plan can more than adequately and safely accommodate the level of traffic proposed in our application. The energy firm
