A man has been arrested on suspicion of attempted murder and robbery in Preston.

It follows reports of an assault this lunchtime at 12.37pm, at the B and M Bargains in Carlisle Street, where a man in his 40s suffered a stab wound to his leg.

He has been taken to hospital where his condition is described as very poorly.

This is not being treated as a terror-related incident, and Police are asking that people do not engage in any unhelpful speculation.
