A primary school in Preston has re-opened after a large number of children contracted the norovirus.

Kingsfold Primary in Penwortham was closed on Friday due to an outbreak of the sickness bug.

The school is open as normal today after mums and dads were turned away at the school gates last week.

The building has had a deep clean over the weekend to kill the virus after a large number of pupils contracted the sickness bug.

Health bosses have sent letters home urging mums and dads to keep their children off school if they have the virus.

Public Health England say pupils must be symptom free for at least 48 hours before returning to school.
