Police in Preston now think two pensioners were robbed by the same two women on the same day.

An 89-year-old man had his wallet stolen from his pocket after going into Novellos Clothing in Fishergate to wish the staff a Merry Christmas.

That happened at around 11am on Tuesday 20 December.

In the afternoon on the same day, an 85-year-old woman had her purse stolen from her handbag in Stringers Dept Store in Lytham.

PC Danielle Lilley, of Preston Police, said:

"These crimes are despicable and callous acts of theft from elderly victims and I would urge anyone who knows these women or who has any information to get in touch."

Anyone who knows the women pictured above is asked to email 2456@lancashire.police.uk or call 101, quoting log 420 of 20 December 2022.
