£16m worth of Cocaine seized from Blackburn warehouse
It's one of the biggest ever drugs hauls in Lancashire
Lancashire Police have seized cocaine with an estimated street value of £16million from a warehouse in Blackburn.
The seizure of the drugs marks one of the biggest ever in Lancashire and is the latest Operation Warrior success.
The haul, which has since been removed for testing, was recovered from a property in the town yesterday (May 3).
Two men, aged 45 and 30, have been arrested on suspicion of possession with intent to supply a Class A drug and remain in custody.
ACC Sam Mackenzie, of Lancashire Police, said: “This is a significant seizure and marks our commitment to tackling organised crime. Lancashire should not be seen as a safe place for drug traffickers to operate.
“This is evidence that drugs are trafficked into Lancashire and that is why we are putting additional resources into targeting this type of activity.
“I hope this seizure encourages the public to report any suspicious activity to us, confident that we will act on it.”
#OpWarrior is our response to tackling serious and organised crime in Lancashire and delivering on Police and Crime Commissioner Andrew Snowden's Fighting Crime Plan priority of disrupting and dismantling organised crime.
