Police try to trace 2 people after "vicious" Blackpool assault

The man attacked back in May had his jaw broken in 4 places.

Police are trying to trace 2 people – after a man suffered serious facial injuries in “vicious” Blackpool assault

Detectives have released CCTV images of two people they would like to speak after a the 23-year-old man was attacked.

Police were called around 12.20am on May the 7th to Blackpool Promenade where they found the man with serious facial injuries.

Detectives believe the victim was attacked around 11pm by another man near West Street.

The offender made off from the scene, leaving the 23-year-old badly hurt.

The victim, from the Blackburn area, had his jaw broken in four places and was treated in hospital.

Following investigation police would like to speak to this man and woman (pictured), believed to be in the area at the time of the assault.

Det Con Rick Bartlett, of Blackpool CID, said:

“We are appealing for information after a 23-year-old man from Blackburn sustained serious facial injuries following an assault in Blackpool.

“The victim had been with friends in Brannigans on Market Street and walked along West Street where he was attacked.

“We are appealing to the public for help in identifying the male and female pictured and would also like to identify any witnesses to the assault.

“Enquiries have suggested the attacker could be from the Blackburn area. If you recognise the people pictured, please contact us immediately.”
