A police officer and former UK middle distance athlete has been charged with voyeurism offences allegedly involving eight women.

Pc Jayson Lobo, 46, of Blackburn, Lancashire, is accused of 17 offences of voyeurism said to be have been committed between December 2011 and May 2015.

Lobo, an 800 metres runner, represented England at the 1998 Commonwealth Games in Kuala Lumpur, and competed for Great Britain at the 1999 World Championships in Seville.

A spokeswoman for Lancashire Police said: Jayson Lobo, 46, of Blackburn, is accused of 17 offences of voyeurism, contrary to the Sexual Offences Act 2003. The offences were allegedly committed against eight female victims on dates between December 2011 and May 2015.

All except one of the alleged offences was committed at an address in Blackburn.Lobo was arrested in December 2015 and reported for summons when he answered his bail on May 17.'' Lobo is due to appear on Wednesday at Liverpool Crown Court.
