Police investigate sexual assault in Preston

Police are appealing for information after a woman was sexually assaulted in Preston.
At some time between 17:30 and 18:30 on Friday 29th June, the victim - a woman in her 30s - was approached by an unknown man.
The man started off by engaging in conversation and asking the woman for the time from across the road.
As she approached the junction with Maitland Street and Rigby Street, he crossed the road, grabbed her and sexually assaulted her.
The victim managed to push him away and run off.
The offender is described as a white male of proportionate build with short light brown hair.
PC Ben Gomer of Preston Police, said: “The victim was walking down the street when she was sexually assaulted.
“We believe the area was quite busy at the time and are appealing to anyone with any information at all, to come forward.
