86 year old man died over a month after accident in city centre

Lancashire Police are appealing for witnesses after a man died following a collision in Preston city centre in November.

We were called to Lancaster Road, near to the junction with Jacson Street at around 1.35pm on Saturday, November 5th following a collision involving a green Vauxhall Mokka and an 86-year-old male pedestrian.

He suffered a head injury and was taken to the Royal Preston Hospital by ambulance.

Very sadly, the man – who is from Leyland - died on Tuesday 13th December.

Police are urging witnesses, or anyone with information about the incident to come forward.

Sgt Helen Parkinson of Lancashire Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said, “This is a very sad incident, and my thoughts are with the man’s family at this difficult time.

“This incident happened at the junction of Lancaster Road and Jacson Street in the City Centre just after 13:30 hours on the first Saturday in November.

“I’m appealing to anyone who saw what happened to come forward.
