Police are appealing for information after two teenagers were threatened and robbed, in separate incidents in Preston city centre.

At 9.45pm on Tuesday (29 August) officers were called to Tithebarn Street after a 17 year old boy was approached from behind by a group of teens wearing balaclavas. One of them threatened him with a knife. They stole his Carrerra E-spec bike and then fled towards Preston Market.

A few hours later, at around 2.55 on Wednesday morning, officers were called to Church Street, where an 18 year old man was hit over the back of the head - again by individuals wearing balaclavas.

The man then had a chain and watch stolen.

Lancashire Police have now stepped up patrols in the area, and they want anyone who saw anything to contact them.

In a statement, DI Simon Gray said: "These are two appalling attacks committed against two young victims. Although they were not seriously injured, they have been left understandably shaken.

“I would ask witnesses or anyone who has CCTV, dashcam or mobile phone footage capturing either incident or people wearing face coverings in the area around those times to contact the police as soon as possible.”

Anyone with information can contact the force on 101.
