Police appeal about attack on 16-year-old boy

A 16-year-old boy has been attacked in Preston.

A 16-year-old boy has been attacked in Preston.

It happened on Dawnay Road near the junction with Cowley Road on the Greenlands estate at about 21:40 on Saturday (23rd January 2016).

In a statement, Lancashire Police said:

"The victim, a 16 year old male, was walking along Dawnay Road with a friend when they were approached by a group of up to 6 male youths some of whom were on bikes. Two of the group then threatened the victim before attacking him by kicking and punching him to the ground. He was told to empty his pockets and had his Samsung mobile phone stolen. He was taken to hospital via ambulance but has since been released. He suffered a fractured wrist and bruising to face."

He was taken to hospital but has now been released.
