A circus performer has injured his wrist after falling during a Wheel of Faith stunt in Blackpool.
The incident is reported to have happened at around 5pm.
According to social media reports paramedics rushed to the performer and they were taken to hospital, with audience members evacuated from the scene.
Barry Cooke, who attended the performance with his wife and two kids, said: "He fell from a fair height, and landed very hard, almost directly in front of us."
"People didn't really know whether it was part of the act or not. But it was clear to my family and I that it couldn't have been part of the act, due to how hard he landed and was screaming and writhing."
"My youngest boy was crying and my eldest appeared to be in shock. They haven't stopped talking about it since, asking if we know how the man was."
Blackpool Tower commented saying:
"Our medical team responded quickly with our well-established emergency procedures and supported the performer until the Emergency Services arrived.
We are pleased to confirm the performer is recovering well and being treated for a minor injury to his wrist.
The safety and well-being of our performers is of the highest importance."
