Pair charged after stabbing in Blackpool

A man and woman have been charged by police investigating a stabbing in Blackpool.

Police were called around 7pm on Monday (August 31) to reports a man had been injured at an address in Egerton Road.

The man, 36, suffered stab wounds to his neck and body and was taken to Royal Preston Hospital for treatment.

Four people were later arrested in connection with the incident.

A man and woman have now been charged by police, with detectives continuing to appeal for information.

Det Insp Abi Finch-Hall, of Blackpool Police, said: “While we have now charged two people we would urge anyone who can assist with our investigation to come forward.

“This incident happened in a residential area of Blackpool at a time when there were residents and children enjoying their evening. I would like to thank members of the public who assisted the victim. I also want to appeal to members of the community who may have seen what happened, were in the area at the time or may have any information they could share with us, however trivial, to come forward.”

Joshua Kenny, 27, of Knowle Avenue, Blackpool, has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent, robbery and possession of a knife in a public place.

Susan Cleaver, 36, of Knowle Avenue, Blackpool, has been charged with Section 18 – wounding with intent and robbery. Both were due to appear at Blackpool Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, September 2).
