Man suffers life-threatening injuries after assault in Ribbleton

A man in his 40s has been left in a serious condition in hospital after an assault in Ribbleton yesterday morning (21st December).

Police were called to Bowland Road at around 5.25am to reports that a man was unconscious after suffering head injuries.

He was taken to hospital with life-threatening injuries and remains there for treatment.

Officers have arrested a 38-year-old man from Preston on suspicion of causing GBH with intent and remains in police custody.

Lancashire police are appealing for information from the public about the incident and for any CCTV images which might help them piece together exactly what happened.

Det Ch Insp Mike Gladwin, of Lancashire Police, said: “This was a nasty incident which has left a man in hospital with serious injuries. One man has since been arrested but our investigation is very much ongoing to establish what happened.

“We are now appealing for information and are asking anybody who saw the incident, or who has dashcam or CCTV showing any part of it, to get in touch as soon as possible.

"Anybody with information should contact us on 101, quoting log 199 of December 21st."
