Man seriously injured in Tarleton motorbike crash

He's currently receiving treatment in hospital

A motorcyclist has been seriously injured after a crash involving a bike and car in Tarleton.

Emergency services rushed to the scene on Southport New Road at around 5pm yesterday, after reports of a collision between a BMW X6 and a R1200RT motorbike.

A man in his 70s was rushed to hospital with serious injuries. He's currently receiving treatment.

In a statement, Lancashire Police said: "We are appealing for witnesses after a collision between a car and a motorcycle left a man with serious injuries.

"The incident happened at just after 5pm yesterday (Tuesday, July 9th) on Southport New Road in Tarleton when a BMW X6 collided with a BMW R1200RT motorbike.

"The rider, a 70-year-old man from Walton le Dale, was left with serious injuries and was taken to hospital where he remains. The car driver was uninjured."
