Man seriously injured after assault in Blackpool

A man has been seriously injured after being assaulted in Blackpool.

Emergency services were called to Queen Street, near to Walkabout, with a man in his 50s rushed to hospital with "significant injuries"

Police say two men, aged 36 and 38, are being questioned.

Det. Insp. Liam Davy, of Blackpool CID, said: “This assault has left a man with some very serious injuries, and our thoughts are with him and his loved ones at this time.

“We have a dedicated team of officers working to find out what happened to him, and two arrests have been made. At this time, it is being treated as an isolated incident."

Lancashire Police say there is now going to be an increased police presence on the streets as they investigate the incident.
